This smart cat, like some furry bewhiskered wizard, has a very straightforward way for getting exactly what he wants. He uses charms in a wonderful way. The cat was found by Columbia Police Department officers in South Carolina when he appeared outside their station one weekend last month.

This stray cat decided to make himself the clear focus of attention by slipping inside to demand attention rather than making his presence known in a cunning manner, as is often the approach among felines. Who would reject that, after all?

Even though he was an unexpected guest, the station’s police officers quickly fell under the cat’s spell. He soon even took control of a lap. Since he was obviously in love with the cat, one of the policeman asked to take a selfie with him. One more officer snapped a picture of that in the meanwhile. The cat’s strategy was definitely successful.

The officers quickly realised they had a family of their own close by and decided it would be best to let the cat return on his own. But he was having none of it. The cat came back the next day, eager to show off his charms once more. He was first introduced to by Officer Brandon Montgomery when he arrived at the station following a weekend off.

Every time a police entered or exited, according to Montgomery, “he would go back inside very quickly.”   He wanted to be petted and hugged. He enjoys sitting on others’ shoulders.

The police uploaded images of the cat online in an effort to find his owner, if he had one, but nobody stepped forward to claim him. Montgomery intervened to offer the cat a place in his own home rather than sending him to an animal shelter to try his luck at getting adopted.

The cat, who is now known as Kingsley, has since made a good home for itself with the Montgomery family and their other rescued pets. I adore animals,” Montgomery declared. “I think of my pets as members of the family. He’s doing great.

Montgomery is the first to admit that, if Kingsley’s grand plan had been his throughout, he pulled it off beautifully. We will never be able to be certain if such was the case when he first appeared outside the police station, though. It worked out for him, he retorted. It certainly worked out well.
