Texas residents could hear cats meowing from their garage. When they looked more closely, they saw five kittens in one of the cabinets. The family brought the little kittens to the Wilco Regional Animal Shelter for help because the mother cat was nowhere to be seen.

One of the family in Texas hear cats meowing from their garage. Megyn is a foster volunteer, so the shelter got in touch with her about the litter because they needed 24-hour care so badly. Knowing that every second counted, she put everything on hold and ran to get them.

The first bottle babies this season to arrive to the shelter, the kittens were between two and three days old when they arrived, Megyn told Love Meow. Four were between 90 and 100 gram, while the smallest, Brie, weighed only 77 gram. Little Brie had a slow start in life, but she wasn’t going to let that stand in her way of catching up to her siblings, who were now named Cheddar, Muenster, Feta, and Gouda.

The kittens hadn’t been eating and Megyn couldn’t get anything down their throats, so she knew something wasn’t right the next day. We don’t know if their health problems are related to being orphaned, she added.
“Orphanhood never helps anyone. As babies aren’t receiving any of their mother’s antibodies in their milk to fight off anything, it is possible that there are hidden health issues.”

Megyn fretted about the scenario, but she did her best to keep them hydrated and give them supplements. Between feedings, they slept for long stretches in their warm, comfortable bed. “Muenster was so peaceful and laid-back at first, I was scared something was wrong. But now we realise that’s just the way this nice guy is. He has a very calm and laid-back character.

When all of the ginger babies’ eyes were open and they had recovered after their first shock, they were ready to explore their environment. The five ginger kittens have developed rapidly and are getting stronger by the day. They are beginning to grow teeth, so soon they will be consuming food off a plate like big cats do!

This indicates that they will be prepared for adoption in a few weeks and that their new journey in their forever homes will begin. Megyn and her parents received a heartfelt thank you for their hard work and for making this possible.
