Cat meets Pillow who looks exactly like him and falls in love with him
Harry, the sweetest cat you’ll ever meet, has lived with his mother since he was a kitten. Despite his sometimes grumpy and bewildered appearance, Harry is truly the most kind cat you’ll ever meet.
“Harry appears to hate everyone and everything a lot of the time, but really, he is the clingiest, loveliest dude ever,” Harry’s mother, Beka Smyth, told The Dodo. “He likes to be involved in everything I do, will yell out for me if I leave the room and he doesn’t know where I’ve gone, and he’s slept pretty much straight on my head at night since he was a small little kitten.”
Smyth and her partner were out shopping recently when she saw something that made her stop in her tracks. The store they were in had a huge cat pillow that looked like Harry on the top rack. Smyth knew she had to purchase the cushion because the colouring and grumpy face on Harry were so true.
Smyth handed her new Harry look-alike pillow to Harry as soon as she and her partner arrived home — and at first, he had no idea how to react. “Harry’s reaction was a little surprising. I expected him to flip out at the sight of it, but he just stared at me as if to say, ‘Is this some sort of joke?'” Smyth stated.
Smyth placed the pillow on top of Harry’s kitty tree after the initial encounters, and he quickly climbed up next to it, slowly moving from confused to very, very interested. The pillow and Harry moved to the couch the next day. He hopped up onto the couch next to it, sat down, and refused to move for the rest of the day.
Sometime after the pillow arrived, Harry realised that, aside his initial surprise, he was actually rather in love with it and wanted to spend as much time as possible with his new best friend.
According to Smyth, he spent the entire day on the sofa next to it, often getting up to see what I was doing in the study. He’s spent a lot of time sitting next to it since then. When Smyth first purchased the pillow, she felt it was a funny coincidence that Harry may like as well, but she had no idea that the grumpy-looking pillow would become her cat’s new closest buddy.
