A stray kitten enters a pizza shop and demands to be adopted
A stray calico kitten sneaked into a shop, chose her forever human, and refused to accept no for an answer. Ratbag the Vandal has arrived!
Dave from Australia owns a pizza shop and had an unexpected visitor one day. A stray kitten had sneaked into his shop by slipping under the back gate of his yard. She was driven to stay once she was inside. “I wasn’t expecting a cat to adopt me, and she wasn’t ready to leave,” Dave explained to Love Meow. “She appeared lethargic, afraid, and nervous as a result of all the strange noises and smells.”
She was a brave little thing because she reached Dave after a few minutes, looking for some much needed attention. “I sat her on my shoulder, and she immediately felt comfortable. She began purring and rubbing against my ears and the back of my neck.”
She appeared grateful, as if she had finally felt safe, she had found a human friend and was not about to give him up. Dave realized that this little kitten did belong to someone and had simply become lost, so he tried to get her to assist him out of the shop, but she refused.
So he went around the neighborhood asking if anyone was missing a kitten, but no one came forward, and he realized he was going to have to take her home with him.
When Dave got home, he went on social media in the hopes of finding her a good home, but as soon as she flopped down onto his lap, she fell asleep. “She’s decided to stay, and who could argue with that little face?” Dave explained. “She is now a full-time member of our newly formed finger chewing and cuteness team!”
He named her Ratbag the Vandal and took her to the vet to be examined, microchipped, and vaccinated. She didn’t appear to be a feral kitten, so she was probably abandoned, according to the vet. This delightful calico definitely chose the right shop to sneak into; she no longer has to wander the streets and has found the perfect shoulder to ledge on – of course, attached to her favorite human.
She enjoys helping Dave whenever she can, especially when he’s on the computer, Dave refers to her as his purr-sonal supervisor! She quickly rose to the position of house boss, and she even has her own pillow castle. “In a storeroom, I have a kitten obstacle course that she enjoys. She enjoys chewing on dog toys and sleeping next to me as a furry hot water bottle or on a pillow beside or behind my head.”
Dave never expected to be chosen by a kitten who wandered into his shop, but he wouldn’t have it any other way now. “She’s the toughest, most gutsy kitten on the block!”
