This cat was dumped at a shelter just because of Diarrhea
This beautiful baby in the photo was dumped at an animal shelter for an unusual reason, it had diarrhea! A handwritten note explaining the cat’s constant diarrhea and refusal to use the litter box was abandoned with the 3-year-old sad kitty at Plymouth’s Gables Farm Dogs & Cats.
The cat was discovered by Ruth Rickard freezing outside the entryway of the shelter. The letter, which stated why the cat was a “health threat,” was pinned to the top of the carrier. The cat is currently doing fine, and the diarrhea has been treated. She now weighs almost the same as a kitten that is six months old, so it did have an impact on her weight.
The cat is being helped in weight gain by Ruth and the animal shelter. Because of the severity of the problem, she says that dumping animals is never the solution. The shelter explained that there are many groups that will take a cat in and help with the high medical costs in a public statement. The solution is never to leave a pet, and it appears that these owners never gave the cat much thought.
