Rubble becomes 30 years old and is the oldest cat in the world at 137 human years
Could this be the world’s oldest domestic cat? The blessed cat in the picture above has actually lived more than nine lives. The newest cat contender for the Old Guard title may possibly be Rubble, a long-haired ginger and white cat who resides in the United Kingdom.
According to Bored Panda, his owner, Michele Foster, recently celebrated the birthday of her extraordinarily senior cat in Exeter, Devon. Foster said, “He’s a nice cat, but he’s gotten a little grumpy in his old age. He still has a lot of life left in him, but I don’t think we will chase a Guinness World Record since I’m not sure he would enjoy a lot of visitors or a fuss being made over him.

Foster added, “He is old now and would not enjoy too much attention or difficulty. We would prefer if he was just let to pass away peacefully. Foster, who is now 50 years old, reportedly adopted Rubble in 1988 as a present to herself for turning 20. She claims that because she was living alone at the time and a litter that her sister’s friend was raising, she felt a little lonely.

Apparently, City Vets has been a huge help in keeping the health of this forever-kitten. In fact, the animal clinic gave Rubble a beautiful party in honour of him, complete with a free exam, some milk, and his favorite cat food.
The Daily Mail, who broke the news of Rubble first, believes that the cat is 137 years old! The fluffy Maine Coon-type cat is in good health despite his older age, and Shaun Moore of City Vets believes he is the oldest cat on record at the animal hospital.
Scooter, a Siamese cat from Mansfield, Texas, was the oldest cat ever recorded. The Guinness Book of World Records awarded him the title in April 2016 when he was 30 years old, but he sadly passed suddenly not long after.
Records show that Creme Puff was the oldest cat ever to exist. Between August 3, 1967, and August 6, 2005, the pet in question lived in Austin, Texas, with her owner Jake Perry, a span of 38 years and three days.
