Cat Thinks That No One Can See Him When He Hides
When Keanu was just a kitten, his mother’s industrial warehouse was rescued from him. He was originally scared, but he quickly overcame his shyness and is now the neighborhood’s friendliest cat.
Dani Baker, Keanu’s mother, told The Dodo, “He is hesitant for the first five seconds he meets someone, then he is instantly their best buddy.” Keanu enjoys locating lizards and putting them (alive and physically unharmed) in his dad’s shoes, gym bag, work bag, etc. when he isn’t hiding.
Keanu is very friendly, but one of his favorite pastimes is finding places to hide. He likes being able to quietly watch things happen. Although Keanu gives the idea that he is an adept at hiding things, his skills may use some work.
He “hides in various places,” Baker added. “Depending on the furniture nearby, he uses creativity. But his father’s chamber is where it always is. We make fun of Keanu for constantly spying on or watching over his father.
Whether it’s in the open dishwasher or behind a table, Keanu can always find a fun hiding spot. It was clear exactly that Keanu hasn’t yet realized that his family can still see him the most of the time. Every time, he is certain that he is totally hidden.
He believes we cannot possibly see him, Baker added. He usually meows in reply when we call him, but when he’s hiding, he doesn’t. He won’t move, even if we tap his feet to let him know we are there.
Keanu is keen about keeping his reputation for cunning. Whether or if his family can still see him is irrelevant, what matters is that he thinks they can’t. Sometimes he hides to watch his family eat, sometimes to sneak in a quick nap, and sometimes just to keep an undisturbed eye on things. He can always find an explanation.
Keanu has recently found that the Christmas tree is his new favorite hiding place because, surprise, his family can still see him there. It all works out in the end since Keanu really enjoys hiding and his family really enjoys laughing at his beautiful hiding attempts.
