An artist puts her ginger cat into all of the well-known paintings
Russian artist Svetlana Petrova told us that she met a very gifted cat and took him in after his mother passed away. She thinks the ginger cat stopped her from going into a period of depression. Her mother also loved Zarasthustra, which is why Svetlana and the cat have such a strong bond.
He loves posing for pictures, the artist says about Zarasthustra. It achieves such flirtatious poses and cunning expressions as if to suggest, “Paint me like these French females…” So I do.”
“I work as an artist, and Zarathustra made the proper choice for his human slave. I currently have around 7000 pictures of Zarathustra on my computer.” I carefully digitally photoshop the cat into a photograph of a famous painting.
It can take months to get the ideal shot because he needs to fit perfectly into the frame, in both position and expression. To make the cat’s image look incredibly natural in well-known masterpieces, I print and paint my works in copy of the great masters, says Svetlana.
Zarasthustra has been placed by Svetlana into famous and well-known works of art including the Mona Lisa and Joconde. My cat shows that everyone can be creative, even a cat, and that modern people may learn about the history of art in a cute and positive way. (Svetlana Petrova)
