Little Girl Sings to Her Cat as He Passes away, but Their Special Bond Continues to live
Cats do, in fact, become a member of the family, therefore, it is never easy to deal with their loss when they pass away. Bailey, the star of the best-selling book “Bailey, No Ordinary Cat,” died of kidney failure at the age of 14 and crossed the rainbow bridge. He loved his sisters dearly, and they did the same for him. He was very much a member of his human family.
In this heartwarming video, one of the sisters, Abby, can be seen singing to Bailey as he passes away. Abby had been singing to Bailey ever since she first learnt to talk. It nearly caused my heart to break and brought back painful memories of the day my 20-year-old cat passed away. Even though Abby is just 4 years old, the two have been close since her birth, and she has many wonderful memories of Bailey. Please have tissues at the ready…
Realizing that this was their final moment together is terribly sad, but at least they both shared it and were trying to make every second matter. I believe Bailey was aware of what was taking place and was happy to be in the arms of someone he loved about very much.
When Abby was around 2 years old, these were taken
After six months, something amazing happened that was unexpected but felt to be the right moment to welcome a new member into the family—who, by the way, has four legs.
The following video gives us the chance to see how amazing Bailey’s friendship with all the girls was and introduces us to A Cat Named Carrot, the newest addition to their family.
Isn’t it lovely to see the strong relationships these girls have developed with their cats? I’m sure Bailey would agree that they are lucky to have Carrot in their lives right now. Similar to Bailey, Carrot has gained a large following on Instagram, where she currently has over 152,000 followers (compared to Bailey’s 206,000).
Carrot’s mother, Erin, had not meant for her to follow Bailey’s path, but I suppose it was destiny. We had no idea that six months after his passing, Abby and her sister Hannah would receive a kitten they named Carrot—which I thought was hilarious. “I had no plans to start a Carrot Facebook page or Instagram account. I never in a million years imagined getting another cat just like Bailey.”
I was nervous that if the kitten didn’t want to do what Bailey did, the children would be disappointed. Even after months of warnings, I finally said, “If we ever get another cat, it probably won’t do everything Bailey did.”
However, Erin was proven to be mistaken when she said, “Well, we got the kitty jackpot again and within 24 hours of having Carrot, I knew we had a special lady.” Ginger girl cats are scarce. I believe that boys make up 85% of ginger people. Check it out. She is correct that female ginger cats are rare, and in my experience, I have found that the majority of ginger cats are very loyal to their owners. If you have young children and are thinking about getting a cat, keep in mind that they always make good friends for kids.
“I believe that God heard my prayers. Although many people think Bailey came back as Carrot, I don’t believe in reincarnation. I strongly believe that God hears prayers, and I know that mine were heard. Our hearts were mend by the carrot.” Bailey’s death left us sad, Erin said to News4SanAntonio.
I think that Bailey will always be in the hearts of Carrot and the girls, and that they will have a beautiful life together. Rest in peace bailey.
