Because “it kept coming into her garden,” a woman threw a cat at her neighbor’s door
Sometimes, human cruelty toward animals knows no bounds. April Hawes, 38, the most recent criminal of animal cruelty, tossed a neighbor’s cat at a door because it visited her garden too often. She will be charged with causing harm to a protected animal thanks to the fact that the entire incident was captured on CCTV.
Hawes was angry that the kitten kept returning to her garden every day. Instead of having in normal conversation with her neighbour, she took the poor soul, walked to the neighbor’s door, and threw it out like a piece of trash. She shouted that she hoped business owners Kevin Yarham and Sophie Baker would watch the terrible act on security footage while fully aware of the cameras.
Kevin stated that Hawes threw the cat at the door twice. She did it while shouting and acting quite violently. Naturally, the couple filed a lawsuit against Hawes, who then appeared in court and admitted to the offence. She admitted guilt in a previous hearing, the court was informed.
Hawes now appears to be completely aware of how bad her actions were. She said that she regrets harming the kitten because she didn’t intend to. Thankfully, the cat’s injuries were limited to soft tissue. Though the violent incident has increased Shadow’s fear around women.
Hawes was given a year-long community order and 30 days of rehabilitation by the court. She also made payments totaling £170 in fees and victim surcharge.
