Couple adopts the saddest cat in the shelter- In one hour, the transformation is amazing
Meet BenBen, up until a couple decided to adopt him, he was the saddest cat in the shelter. BenBen arrived at the shelter with a crushed spine, multiple deep wounds, and a cauliflower ear. He could only assume that a greater animal than himself had attacked him.
Sadly, this particular shelter did not have a “no kill” policy, and BenBen, who had extra skin on his face that made him look depressed, was going to be put to death in a few days. BenBen’s caregivers at the shelter believed that because he stopped eating, drinking, and moving about, he must have known that his days were numbered.
He was declared “un-adoptable” at this point. He would never be able to walk again and would require painkillers for the rest of his life, according to the veterinarians.
But suddenly help arrived in the form of a caring vet clinic worker who made the decision to adopt him. The lovely woman explained, “We were able to resolve everything the day before his scheduled death and bring him to his forever home.
BenBen and over in just one hour after moving into his new house. The woman said, “He was full of purrs, smiles, and ‘thank you’ cuddles instantly. “I like to assume that at that very moment he understood he was safe and had his forever home.” BenBen rejected the veterinarians’ predictions that he would never be able to walk again. He can walk and even jump short distances, and he enjoys spending time with his forever people—especially during mealtimes!
BenBen still has a sad look nine months after being saved, but behind it all, he is one of the happiest cats in the world.
